How To Open an Account at FAIRWINDS

Thanks for your interest in starting a banking relationship with FAIRWINDS Credit Union.

Are you eligible to open an account? Credit unions are made up of member/owners who share a common bond of employment, association or community joining together as owners of their not-for-profit financial cooperative.

There are two different ways to open an account with FAIRWINDS. Please choose the most convenient option for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you:
When you open an account at FAIRWINDS Credit Union, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.

Option #1  Open and Fund My Account Online

Option #2  Open and Fund My Account at a Branch

Please bring the following items:
  • Driver's license or government-issued identification

  • Social Security Number

  • Minimum opening balance of $50.00 for a savings account and an additional $1.00 for a checking account.

All negotiable item deposits in newly established membership accounts, including ACH deposits and checks, are subject to holds at the discretion of the credit union, regardless of amount.
