Tips & Tricks:

How to find your Member Number

Your Member Number

Your Member Number is a unique number that identifies you as a member of FAIRWINDS Credit Union. Sometimes it is difficult to identify which numbers comprise your member number when looking at checks or statements. It is important to get your member number exactly correct when using services like FAIRWINDS Online, Call 24, or signing up for Direct Deposit. If you add an extra digit or other erroneous formatting, your service will not work.

This guide will help identify which numbers are correct and will give you tips on avoiding common member number mistakes.

Tip 1. Never add additional formatting (like dashes or extra digits) to your Member Number. Examples: 1234560 (correct), 1234560-2 (incorrect), 12345602 (incorrect), 01234560 (incorrect), 82501234560001 (very incorrect).

Tip 2. If you are unsure of what your Member Number is and want to get this information from your checks, or statement, use the following graphics as guides to obtain the correct Member Number.

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a unique code that is assigned to you so you may access a particular service. This guide will help clarify questions regarding PINs so you can avoid common mistakes and misconceptions

Tip 1. FAIRWINDS Credit Union does not assign universal PINs for all its services (ATM, online, phone). This means you are not automatically issued the same PIN to access all services. You must sign up for each service individually. Example: Do not attempt to access Fairwinds Online using your ATM PIN, unless you have specifically signed up for Fairwinds Online and requested this PIN be used.

Tip 2. In some instances (FAIRWINDS Online) PINs are case sensitive and will not work unless they are precisely entered.

Tip 3. If you enter an incorrect PIN in some services (FAIRWINDS Online) your access may become disabled after a predetermined number of incorrect login attempts. This is a built in security feature and helps prevent unauthorized account access. If your service becomes disabled, you must re-enable access by calling Member Services at (407) 277-5045 or toll-free at (800) 443-6887, or by re-requesting your PIN online.

Tip 4. You may change your PIN at any time for any of our services by calling Member Services at (407) 277-5045 or toll-free at (800) 443-6887, or by completing an online PIN change where available (FAIRWINDS Online.)
