Category: Wire Transfers
| Question: |
How do I send a wire from FAIRWINDS?
|
| Answer: |
- A Wire Transfer
Agreement must be on file to send a wire.
- Contact the financial institution receiving the wire transfer. Request complete wiring instructions for that financial institution.
- If the financial institution is outside the United States, make sure to inform them that this will be an “International Wire” and ask if there will be a secondary bank involved.
- Visit a FAIRWINDS branch in person. We do not accept wire transfers by phone.
- Click here for a list of service center locations.
- Request to send a wire transfer. Provide the other financial institution's wire instructions, your account, and the amount to send to a Member Services Representative (MSR).
- The MSR will verify the transaction and instructions and then debit your account for the amount of the wire and the fee.
- The wire is sent to the Federal Reserve, who then credits the receiving financial institution.
