ORLANDO, FL - April 4, 2012: The City of Lady Lake is almost 3,700 pounds lighter today, thanks to a free document shredding event hosted this past Saturday by FAIRWINDS Credit Union. Held at the credit union's branch from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Lady Lake residents were invited to bring all their personal documents and papers to shred on-site - and at no charge.
Shred Fest, one of the credit union's signature and most popular community events, has helped to safely destroy almost one million pounds of documents since 2006. Working with Crown Shredding, based out of Winter Haven, this popular event is held monthly and rotates among the credit union's 37 Central Florida locations. The shred trucks are specially equipped with cameras and monitors giving guests the opportunity to see their documents being shredded live.
The Lady Lake FAIRWINDS Credit Union branch is located at:
870 US441-27 Unit C Lady Lake, FL 32159 and is next to Starbucks.
