FAIRWINDS Recognized for Best Green Business Practices
Orlando, Fla. (November 4, 2009) FAIRWINDS Credit Union, the largest locally-owned credit union in Central Florida, was once again crowned best credit union in Orlando Business Journal's 2009 Readers' Choice awards. This is FAIRWINDS' second consecutive year in the top spot for this category. The annual award includes categories for voters to send in their nominations for the best of everything Central Florida has to offer.
Central Florida residents continued to turn to FAIRWINDS as their sound financial institution and trusted resource. "Our commitment has always been to our members and they know that we will help them work toward building a successful financial future," states FAIRWINDS President/CEO Larry Tobin.
In addition FAIRWINDS was also recognized for their eco-friendly initiatives in the "Best Green Practices" category. An employee program called "Green at Work" has implemented new practices in the company’s daily operations making a positive impact toward the environment and helping to save money. "We are pleased to see that our efforts toward becoming more environmentally friendly have not gone unnoticed. We look forward to expanding our green initiatives in the upcoming year," says Tobin.
