“Blue Carpet Event” Sweepstakes

Official Rules

Introduction: During the period beginning on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and concluding on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. ET (“Sweepstakes Period”), FAIRWINDS Credit Union (“Sponsor”) will sponsor the Blue Carpet Event Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”).  The Sweepstakes will offer one (1) Grand Prize.

Eligibility: The Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents residing within the state of Florida who are not minors at the time of Sweepstakes entry.  Proof of eligibility will be required to claim prize(s).  The following individuals, regardless of their ability to meet the above qualifications, do not qualify to enter or win the Sweepstakes: employees of Sponsor, immediate family members (spouses, parents, siblings, children, grandparents, grandchildren) of employees of Sponsor, employees of FAIRWINDS Insurance Services, LLC, immediate family members of employees of FAIRWINDS Insurance Services, LLC, Sponsor’s Board of Directors, and immediate family members of Sponsor’s Board of Directors.

Prize: Prize is pre-determined.  Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.  Sponsor reserves the right to change prize value amount at any time without additional notice.  One (1) Grand Prize, with a suggested retail value of approximately $4,200 that is equivalent of 12 consecutive monthly payments of $350 will be awarded at the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period.  Grand Prize Winner will receive one full year of no car payments.  Sponsor is not responsible for payments that exceed this amount. The Grand Prize will be presented in the form of a check to the winner. Delivery date will be determined after Grand Prize Winner is selected and notified.  Sponsor is in any way involved in or responsible for any further relationship between Winner and other companies that may or may not include an exchange of payment for products or services.  If Sweepstakes Period is shortened, this will have no impact on the number of winner selected and prize issued; winner will be selected from the eligible entries received.

How to Enter:  There are two (2) methods by which you can enter the Sweepstakes. You may enter the Sweepstakes in any one of the following ways:

  1. Apply for an auto loan with Sponsor during Sweepstakes Period.  Loans originally financed before Sweepstakes Period with Sponsor do not qualify for automatic entry into Sweepstakes, nor may an existing loan with Sponsor be refinanced to gain entry into Sweepstakes.  Loan applicant will be automatically entered into “Sweepstakes” on date of completed and submitted application, regardless of loan approval or disbursement.
  2. Send a handwritten 3” x 5” card with your first name, last name, residential address, daytime telephone number, and email address to:

FAIRWINDS Credit Union
“The Blue Carpet Event Sweepstakes”
135 W. Central Blvd., Suite 1230
Orlando, FL 32801

One entry per applicant, per method, during the Sweepstakes Period (May 17, 2013 through May 18, 2013) is allowed.  Multiple entries by any one individual through the same entry method (ie: by mail) may, at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, result in all of that individual’s entries being disqualified.  No more than one (1) entry per postcard or envelope is allowed.  Any attempt to violate these Official Rules will, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, result in disqualification of any or all entries submitted that are not done so in accordance with Official Rules.   Any and all fees associated with any of the above entry methods are the sole responsibility of the individual entering the Sweepstakes.  The use of loan applications as method of Sweepstakes entry is highly discouraged if applicant’s only motivation to apply for a loan is to enter Sweepstakes.  To enter Sweepstakes without applying for a loan with Sponsor, use entry method (a) to mail in a 3” x 5” index card, as described above.

General:  No purchase necessary to enter or to win.  A purchase will not increase your odds of winning.  All federal, state, local, and municipal laws and regulations apply.  Void where prohibited.  Sponsor’s decisions regarding all aspects of the Sweepstakes are final and non-negotiable, and may be changed only by the Sponsor. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing, or other inadvertent errors in any materials other than the Official Rules of the Sweepstakes.  All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 18, 2013 to be eligible.  Sponsorwill not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor.  All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.  The Grand Prize drawing will be held on approximately, May 22, 2013. Days and dates may be changed, without notice, at the sole discretion of Sponsor.  In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify, or terminate the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prize based on the entries received before the termination date.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes as solely determined by Sponsor.  .  Winner agree to hold harmless Sponsor from any and all liability, loss, or damages or causes of action arising from or in connection with entrant’s participation in or winner’s receipt or use of the prize awarded in the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is responsible only for the issuance of prize, not for the use, utility, quality, or otherwise.  Once prize is claimed, Sponsor has no further responsibility or liability, stated or otherwise implied, to Winner in regards to Sweepstakes Prize. Any and all taxes, fees, and other associated expenses, if any, arising from participating in Sweepstakes or claiming Sweepstakes Prize, are the sole responsibility of winner. When claiming prize, Grand Prize Winner will be required to provide a completed W-9 form to Sponsor.  W-9 form is required for Sponsor to issue Grand Prize Winner a 1099-MISC form for the Fair Market Value of the prize, as required by the U.S. Government.  Grand Prize Winner is required to provide Sponsor with all information necessary to issue a 1099-MISC form including, but not limited to, Winner’s full legal name, social security number, and address.

Winner Selection: Winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received during Sweepstakes Period.   The random drawing will be conducted by a representative of FAIRWINDS Credit Union, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.  One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from all entrants during Sweepstakes Period.

Winner Notification and Acceptance:  Winner will be notified by telephone. Sponsorwill call the winner up to five (5) times that day and the following business day during regular business hours at number provided on entry form, which may vary depending on method of entry, and will leave no messages.  Sponsor reserves the right to use any contact phone number provided by Sweepstakes entrant to Sponsor – whether on 3” x 5” index card, on loan application, or in Sponsor’s current member database.  Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, inaccurate, or illegible phone numbers.

Failure to reach winner during these calls may result in disqualification of winner, forfeiture of his or her interest in all prize, and selection of substitute winner.  Winner will be required to claim prize in person, during regular business hours at the FAIRWINDS Credit Union Corporate Tower (135 W. Central Blvd., Suite 1230, Orlando, FL  32801) within fifteen (15) calendar days of being notified to claim prize. Prize not won and not claimed by eligible winner in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor, or at the Sponsor’s discretion may be awarded to another randomly selected winner. At the sole discretion of Sponsor, exception(s) may be made in the event a randomly selected winner does not live or work within twenty (20) miles of FAIRWINDS Credit Union’s Corporate Tower.
Each winner must provide acceptable identification, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, as proof of eligibility when claiming prize.  Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release at the time the prize is claimed.

Except as otherwise set forth in these Official Rules, failure of Winner to visit the FAIRWINDS Credit Union Corporate Tower in person and sign and return any required affidavits and releases, or to claim a prize or comply with any term or conditions of these Official Rules, will result in drawing Winner’s disqualification and the forfeitures of his or her interest in the prize.  Winner may waive their right to receive prize.  Prize is non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prize not won and not claimed by eligible winner in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor, or at the Sponsor’s discretion may be awarded to another randomly-selected Sweepstakes entrant.

Participation: By participating in Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor including publication of name, biographical information, likeness, and photos.  Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner's consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information, and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation.
