FAIRWINDS Credit Union and FAIRWINDS Foundation Named National Philanthropy Day Winners
FAIRWINDS recognized for enduring commitment to philanthropic efforts in Central Florida.
FAIRWINDS Credit Union and the FAIRWINDS Foundation were named 2024 National Philanthropy Day Award winners by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of Central Florida Chapter in the following categories:

Winners were recognized at the AFP Central Florida’s 2024 National Philanthropy Day Awards ceremony on November 15.
First celebrated in 1986, National Philanthropy Day us an annual observance on November 15 that is designated by AFP to celebrate charitable activities in the form of donated financial, in-kind and volunteering support.
AFP Central Florida annually recognizes local individuals, corporations, foundations, civic and service groups, and nonprofit organizations whose efforts change the face of the community.
This year, more than 20 individuals and organizations were honored across 10 award categories for their local impact. The AFP Central Florida Chapter unites more than 170 fundraising professionals who work to advance philanthropy.
“For more than 75 years, FAIRWINDS has worked to inspire generosity, volunteer in the community, and support organizations that improve lives through financial well-being,” says Elisha González, vice president of community relations and government affairs at FAIRWINDS and executive director of the FAIRWINDS Foundation. “We are honored to receive recognition of the efforts built into our mission. By promoting a culture of generous living, FAIRWINDS catalyzes change in local neighborhoods and contributes to the vitality of communities.”
FAIRWINDS was named among the most philanthropic companies in Central Florida in 2023 by the Orlando Business Journal. In the past five years, $1.5 million in grants have been awarded by the FAIRWINDS Foundation to bolster financial literacy efforts in Central Florida.
