In order for both the referred individual and the referring FAIRWINDS member to each qualify for and receive the referral reward, the following conditions must be met: The referred individual may not have previously been an owner on or a party to a FAIRWINDS account; the referred individual must open a new FAIRWINDS consumer Preferred or Signature Checking Account with a minimum deposit of $25.00 at new account opening; during the eligible program period, the referred individual must open the new account using the referring FAIRWINDS member's unique referral link; and the referred individual must receive in the new Preferred or Signature Checking Account a cumulative qualifying direct deposit(s) of $1,000.00 or more (excluding the new account deposit used to fund/open the account) within 60 calendar days of opening. A “qualifying direct deposit” is an Automated Clearing House (ACH) deposit of a paycheck, pension, or government benefit (including Social Security) from the government or your employer. Person-to-person transfers (such as Zelle, PayPal or Venmo) and bank transfers between a FAIRWINDS account or an account at other financial institutions or brokerages do not qualify. The referring FAIRWINDS member must be in good standing with the credit union and must be an owner of a FAIRWINDS consumer Spending or Checking account in order to be eligible for a referral reward. FAIRWINDS Credit Union employees are not eligible to receive any referral program rewards.

Rewards that have been fully earned and qualified for will be paid to each party on or about the 15th day of the next month following the deposit of the sufficient qualifying funds into the referred individual's new Preferred or Signature Checking Account. Only one reward will be provided per referred individual. The code used by the referred individual will determine the referring member. A referring FAIRWINDS member can only receive a total of 10 referral rewards. The amount of the reward is the reward amount in effect at the time of the reward payout. All decisions of FAIRWINDS as to the amount and sufficiency of qualifying deposits and reward amounts are final. Referred individuals acknowledge and agree payment of the reward will result in the referring member's knowledge of the referred individual's establishment of a new account with FAIRWINDS and may result in disclosure to the referring member’s knowledge of the deposit activity of the referred individual within the period of 60 days of account opening. By accepting a reward, the referred individual consents to disclosure of account opening and deposit history to the referring member.

The Member Referral Program may be terminated or withdrawn at any time and is subject to change at any time, with or without prior notice. FAIRWINDS reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of the reward from time to time. FAIRWINDS reserves the right to enroll, suspend, or terminate a member's eligibility to participate in this program at any time, with or without prior notice. Member Referral Program rewards may not be combined with other offers or programs. Referral rewards may be reported as income to the IRS and may be taxable to you. The referred individual and the referring member may be responsible for any tax resulting from receipt of a referral reward. Please consult your tax advisor if you have questions about the tax treatment of the referral reward.
