FAIRWINDS Credit Union Raises $150,000 in Annual Give Generously Campaign

Employee Generosity Doubles: A Record Year of Giving to Support Non-Profit Partners

Give Generously Campaign Reception

FAIRWINDS Credit Union announced today the total amount raised during its annual employee Give Generously Campaign at a reception honoring its non-profit partner recipients and employees.

Each year FAIRWINDS hosts an employee fundraising campaign to benefit local non-profit organizations in the community. This year, employees pledged $75,000 during the two-week campaign with a $75,000 match from FAIRWINDS totaling $150,000, surpassing last year’s total of more than $104,000.

“FAIRWINDS was founded more than 75 years ago under the philosophy of people-helping-people,” said Elisha González, vice president of community relations and government affairs at FAIRWINDS and executive director of FAIRWINDS Foundation. “By coming together to support individuals in our community philanthropically, we are affording opportunities and changing lives.”

The money raised will impact individuals served by the following non-profits:

The FAIRWINDS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that supports organizations that improve lives through financial well-being. This mission is based on the understanding that when families and individuals have the information and tools needed to secure and improve their financial health, they can positively impact the entire community’s economic well-being.

Heart of Florida United Way supports the education, health, and financial stability of every person in Central Florida. Founded in 1939, Heart of Florida United Way is Central Florida’s largest supporter of local health and human service agencies assisting the community’s most vulnerable.

United Arts of Central Florida supports the arts, sciences, and history in Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Through a dynamic collaboration of individuals, businesses, local governments, foundations, and more than 60 arts and cultural organizations, they work to enhance the quality and variety of cultural experiences throughout Central Florida.

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando educates, shelters, places, and heals pets and their families with compassionate, responsible care maintained to the highest professional standards. Formerly the SPCA of Central Florida, Pet Alliance’s goal is to provide knowledgeable services for pets and to be leaders in innovative animal care and sheltering.

Through the annual Giving Campaign, “we can provide substantial support to these vital non-profits,” added González. “We are demonstrating the power of collective action and the difference we can make when we unite for a common purpose.”
